2011 Updates

Elizabeth A. Denton, PhD joins CA as National Program Advisor and Organizational Consultant.

CA partners with World Coach Institute re: development of program for Family Caregivers.

Companion Arts' new newsletter, Care for the Journey, is launched!

CA Co-Founders Michael Stillwater and Gary Malkin are designated "Continuing Artists in Residence".

The Companion Arts Board confirms Susan Osborne as its new President and Leland Hoover as Chief Financial Officer.

On the first day of spring Companion Arts announces that its new Care for the Journey programs (to be launched later this year) will focus on both professional caregivers (doctors, nurses, counselors, pastoral care) and family caregivers.

2010 Updates

Companion Arts announces a partnership with Google Nonprofit to provide free technology for secure online donations (see "Donate").

Companion Arts launches its new Webstore with acclaimed audio resources from Companion Arts, Inner Harmony, Wisdom of the World, and publications authored by experts featured on Care for the Journey, Volumes 1 and 2. The new Webstore is affiliated with Amazon.com, and offers special health & wellness promotions, secure credit card payments, fast fulfillment, optional gift wrap and alternate shipping methods. In addition to Webstore offerings, all Companion Arts' titles become available on Amazon.com. Purchases from the Webstore and Amazon help sustain Companion Arts, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.

Companion Arts releases the long-awaited Care for the Journey: The Learning Edition, Volume II!

Our offices move to Boulder, CO. Susan Osborne becomes the Executive Director; Leland Hoover becomes Director of Finance and Administration.

Other Milestones

The first edition of Care for the Journey, a new audio for reducing stress among healthcare practitioners and managers, was released on April 15th, 2005. Over 12,000 copies were distributed as an appreciation gift to staff in hospitals throughout the country, including Cedars-Sinai, Scripps Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, Baylor, St. Mary's/Trinity, Adventist and Del Webb Memorial. Nursing Colleges gave it to students as a graduation gift, and patients gave it to their nurses and physicians. Healthcare Educators used Care for the Journey to reinforce their teaching programs; conference organizers used its spoken passages to open their plenary gatherings.
